The 2022 Diana International Research Conference focused on “Women’s Digital Entrepreneurship”

Established in 1999 by five founding scholars, the Diana International Research Conference is the premier international research conference on women’s entrepreneurship, gathering a collaborative network of researchers studying women’s entrepreneurship from more than 60 countries.

The Diana International Research Conference brings together more than 100 scholars worldwide, providing a forum to share global research dedicated to gender and women’s entrepreneurship.

Hosted by Dublin City University (DCU), the 2022 Diana conference will provide scholars with an exciting new conference experience. Delegates will have opportunities to participate in a range of innovative sessions comprising plenaries, facilitated critical synopsis, roundtable, and themed panel discussions. There will also be opportunities for scholars to debate early-stage – novel but potentially ground-breaking research ideas – with the international Diana community. Conference registration will open in March 2022.

Reflecting the important contribution that women entrepreneurs make to the global economy, the 2022 Diana International Research Conference acknowledges the emerging body of scholarship that has begun to explore the opportunities generated by the internet, mobile technologies, or digital media as external enablers of new digital business models for women entrepreneurs. Accordingly, they invite scholars from around the globe to submit manuscripts that fit with their conference theme: Women’s Digital Entrepreneurship.

They welcome conceptual and empirical papers, including those based on cross-country studies and under-researched geographical regions, that explore the motivations and mechanisms by which digitalization shapes women’s engagement with entrepreneurship. The context will play an important role in this conference, as it influences how gender and entrepreneurship are conceptualized, enhances understanding of the value of women’s entrepreneurial endeavours, and underpins how perceptions can be changed. They encourage papers that explore new research ideas, adopt novel methodological approaches and contribute to theory development to help advance the field and pave the way for an exciting future research agenda for the Diana community.
