Break The Bias: Powering Women Entrepreneurs

The International Women’s Day is important to recognise the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women, to celebrate women and remind the historical women’s labour movement that has not yet been fulfilled. The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) is the home to a thriving community of women innovators, entrepreneurs and students forging a more inclusive and diverse network of innovation for Europe and beyond. The EIT empowers their community members to #BreaktheBias and take action to accelerate the path towards equality. The EIT is Europe’s largest innovation ecosystem and offers support services to innovators at all stages of their journey: from student to entrepreneur, idea to product, and lab to market. In order to increase the number of young girls in STEM and close the digital gender gap, the EIT launched the “Girls Go Circular” project which is being implemented in eight European countries. Go check it out! The EIT believes that more women are needed in decision making roles, that is also why the EIT’s Governing Board is comprised of 50-50 representation of male and female leaders from the business, education and research backgrounds.
